Are my cats trying to feed their stuffed animals?

I bought a little catnip sheep toy for my first cat and I always find it in her food bowl. I thought she was weird and was trying to feed it. And then I got another kitten and I bought her a teddy bear catnip toy. Now she always puts HER toy in HER food bowl. They have a lot of other toys but they only do this with their sheep and teddy bear. Are my cats weird?

catnip pleasantly stimulates cats’ pheromonic receptor.
approximately two thirds of cats are susceptible to the behavioral effects of catnip, as the phenomenon is hereditary
When cats sense catnip, they may roll over it, paw at it, chew it, lick it, leap about and purr, often salivating copiously. Some cats will also growl and meow. This reaction only lasts for a few minutes before the cat loses interest. It takes up to two hours for the cat to reset after which it can come back to the catnip and have the same response as before
maybe what your cats are doing is simply placing there toys in a familiar place that they know in order to find it again at there leisure

No, your cats aren’t weird. They’re just whacked on catnip.
