Are the dies used in hemp coloring harmful?

I am making catnip toys that are made of different colors of hemp string/twine and I am concerned the dies used to color the hemp will be hazardous/toxic to cats

I notice that even hemp toys and scratchers in the store are the natural hemp. (UNdyed) Must be a reason for that. I wouldn’t risk it. Buy natural fibers. It could be toxic.
