How come my 4-month old kitten not interested into the catnip i bought?
I just bought the catnip spray a few days ago along with cat toys. When i reached home, i sprayed the catnip on the cat toys. But my kitten isn’t interested at all at the toys. What is wrong?
1) not all cats have the cat nip gene some cats will never have any effects from cat nip.
2) most of the time kittens won’t have any effects from catnip till they are 6-9 months old.
so give it a few more months and try again.

Not all cats respond to catnip. You might have one of those cats that doesn’t.

Kittens don’t show interest in catnip till about 6 months old or more. Try a big cardboard box. My kittens love theirs! The others are also right about not all cats liking catnip. Only a couple of mine really go for it.

Probably nothing. I’ve heard some cats positively adore catnip, but mine have always turned their noses up at it.

Hello,
Not all cats are affected by catnip dont worry there isnt anything wrong!
"Young kittens and older cats are less likely to have a reaction to catnip.
Approximately two thirds of cats are susceptible to the behavioral effects of catnip."
Hope this helped, feel freeto email me with any questions!
Kindest regards,
Amanda.

Kittens under the age of 3 minths don’t get the scent of catnip yet. Give your kitten some time, and she should start reacting to it soon.
Also, 10-30 % of the cat population don’t even like catnip, so that is a possobility. But I am sure she will get the hang of it soon.

When I brought mine home I bought the expensive stuff. a 25.00 scratching post….she uses my stereo speakers….go figure!!

50% of cats don’t respond to catnip, your cat might be one of them, or maybe just too young to respond.

It’s too young. They usually don’t become interested in catnip till they are about a yr old. I don’t know why that is, but it’s a fact. I have had cats all my life, and I’m 41 yrs old now.

He is too young, you will know wether he likes it or not by the time he reaches 6-9 months, some don’t like it at all but he is too young right now to tell

One of my cats loves catnip toys, the other one has no interest in them at all. Different cats like different things.
