I gave my cat catnip about 6 hrs ago and she has been drooling. Is this normal?
I did research and it’s too late to call the vet as it’s 12:30am here. She has had catnip infused bubbles before and catnip filled toys but I gave it to her on the outside of a toy this time. She is playing, eating, drinking and acting like her crazy normal self.
She is fine.

LOL Sorry to laugh, but it’s normal. Cat nip is like human marijuana, if she’s acting normal I wouldn’t be worried. Cat’s drool when they are happy.

Well… drooling? Hmm… does it look like the rabies drooling? Just to make sure, call the vet in the morning to see whats up

It’s normal. Cat nip does to cats what pot does to people. She is just very relaxed.

Different cats react differently towards the herb, some don’t react at all. If you know for sure her behavior is from the catnip and not something else, than yes, it is normal FOR HER. Catnip cannot harm a cat.

Yes, she’s fine and normal. My cats have been known to drool on the nip too.

Is she drooling or foaming? It sounds like she ate some of it and didn’t like the taste. When cats eat something they don’t like the taste of, they foam it out. It looks like they have rabies while they are doing it but after a while when the taste is gone it stops. Scares the heck out of me the first time I saw my cat foam.
