Is cat nip addictive at all? My cat seems to get in a hyper-mean mood when she has played with catnip toys?
Is there any function for letting a cat have catnip other than for the entertainment of the pple watching them act all goofy? Is it kind of like having a weed-head for a pet if your cat hits on the nip too often?
…..catnip is just another way of selling merchandise to cat owners, it doesn’t have any health benefits for your pet and if you catch your cat selling little dime bags of nip to the neighborhood strays you should put it in kitty rehab ASAP…..

Yeah, catnip doesn’t really have a purpose other than our entertainment and as a narcotic for the cat. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was addictive. Lay off the catnip for a while and see what happens

I have found that the more contact the cat has with the nip, the less it effects them. It is not necessary to give them cat nip but lots of cats love it and it is amusing. But, if it is making your cat mean, I wouldnt give it to her.

I don’t think catnip is addictive. Cat’s simply just love it and it has a hyper-active effect on them. Kind of like sugar has on children. For the most part it shouldn’t really have much of an affect on your cat other than she gets hyper and attracted to what smells like cant nip.
If your cat gets mean about it though I would suggest two routes. Either stop giving her catnip or continue giving her cat nip in the hopes she will become immune.
I only give catnip to my kitten occasionally and she has never been mean or aggressive. Maybe try not giving her as much?
