Is it legal to sell a movie themed cat toy online?
A while ago, I saw a human centipede cat toy for sale on Etsy. (no longer listed) My sister wanted one, so I made one for her. Since then I have been making them for friends and family (I know we’re weird)
I was wondering if it was legal to sell them online. It is basically the human centipede drawing from the movie, only in cat toy form (made from cloth, stuffing, catnip)
You really should not sell them online because you do not own a license for that design. Someone else does. It’s a copyright violation.
What you can do is make a regular centipede cat toy. Use other colors and such so it really is your own design. The cats, of course, won’t care.
