How do I transport my pet animal safely to Europe from Africa?

Hey guys, i have a pet cat
I wanna take it to london, england, europe when i go this easter
Can you guys tell me, what i need to do, like the steps needed to take to take an animal to another continent/city?

What will like the cost be? does it come under luggage? what bout food supplies, the total cost?

HELP!!!
thanks.

Great Britain is really strict about bringing animals into the country because there is no rabies there and they don’t want it to come in. Your cat has to have a Pet Passport showing proof of microchipping, rabies vaccination and of a blood test to show that the vaccination worked. It takes about 2-3 months to get the passport and then your pet won’t be allowed to enter the UK for at least 6 months after that. So, if you don’t already have one, there’s no way your cat will be allowed into England this Easter.
The only other way is to have your cat do quarantine on arrival for 6 months. It would have to stay with a government approved vet straight from the airport and you would have to pay its board.
I’m not sure, but additional vaccinations might be required for animals coming from Africa (my cat was coming from France).
Assuming you have the Pet Passport already, the next step would be to contact airlines flying to London from your city and ask if they take animals. If they do (most airlines don’t) your cat would have to be crated and given water (no food) and put in the hold with the luggage. They have a heated part for animals. The cost would likely be several hundred pounds on top of your ticket, but this would depend on the airline.
I’m not sure what you mean by food supplies. You wouldn’t need food for the flight and pet food is available in London.
I hope that helped answer your question.

In the mail, just put your cat in one of those document tubes, it may take a bit of force to get it in there but it is the best possible option cos your cat will be dead when it arrives. Dead cats are infinitely better than live ones
