Hello Does Anyone know how to make any homemade toys for cats and rabbits?
Hello I have a rabbit and a cat/kitten and my rabbit and calm and doesnt do much but i want him to get some excercise but hes not aloud outside same as my cat because they will get fleas so can Anyone name any site to make homemade animal toys for cats and rabbits please give me as much information or homemade toys you have made or know please
I don’t think your animals are going to get fleas just from going outside, or at least the rabbit won’t if you take it out on a lead or in a run so you know where he is going. I’m sure he would appreciate the grass.
Bunnies like to throw things like cardboard toilet tubes so give him some of them. Filling one with hay will also make it more interesting.
You can buy wooden or plastic balls that your bun may like to play with.
They also like hiding so get a big cardboard box and cut a hole out of it so he can play in there. He will probably have fun chewing this as well.
Maybe a blanket or somewhere nice for the bunny to lie on will be good too. He will probably like to bite and scrabble this.
Hiding treats around the house will be fun for your bunny to find.
Bunnies always appreciate company so if it is possible another bunny is the best toy it can have Of course that may not be possible, so if it isn’t lots of strokes and attention from you will be very good.
I know nothing about cats

I’ve quite a number of cats at my house, normally we’re using plush toys like the one our baby have. It’s pretty safe because cats have tendency to bite while playing. For rabbit I’ve no idea.

kitten toys – bits of string, tin foil rolled into balls, cotton reels tied to string, toilet roll middles, anything that moves really…
rabbit toys – toilet roll middles stuffed with hay, old telephone books, cardboard boxes, paper bags, kitchen roll middles (put a few raisins in it fold both ends over and poke holes in it), paper cups…

One toy that would be good for both is take a used film canister (you can get them from walmart or any camera shop). Wash it real good inside and out – several times because there is a harmful film coating on the inside of the canister. After washing and cleaning throw in some small items like rice, small pebbles, and a small bell or two. close the lid…the bunny can push it around with his nose and the kitten will play for hours chasing it around! My dogs, cats, and even ferrets love these!
Another is to take two pieces of 3" square fleeece and put them good sides facing towards eache other. Sew the squares together except for 1". Turn it rightside out. Insert a small bell inside of the hole. Sew hole. The kitten will love this. The bunny might toss it around too. Some do…some don’t.
One more for the kitten: Get some string. Tie a small fake snake/bird/mouse – either plush or plastic – to the end of the string. Drag it around the house making the kitten chase it. Or tie it to your door knob letting it hang a foot or two from the floor. Kitty can bat at it throughout the day. Another thing you can do – if you have a used child’s size fishing rod – tie one of the animals above to the end of it (after removing the hook) and cast it. Reel it in a couple of inches at a time, then real fast a few feet, then slowly again.
A feather that you find on the ground…tickle kitty with it and dangle it over his head, he can play attack with it..
