How do you train a puppy or dog to know the difference between their own toys and the cats’ toys?
so they don’t chew the toys up and ruin them for the cats?
Whenever you see the dog with the cats toy, take it from him, tell him no, and give him one of his toys. Also, it might help if you kept the cats and dogs toys in separate locations so they won’t mix them up.

Put the dogs toys in one corner and the cats toys in one corner. When the cat walks over to their toys, make sure the dog watches the cat get its toy. Any time your dog has a cat toy take it from them and say no!! Also, point to the dogs toys and say "ur toys"!! Or set the dogs in front of their toys!! ~~~Taylor

Sabrina Z’s answer is spot on…especially keeping toys stored separately

Good luck with that one, my cat used to take a swipe at my dog and that was enough for it, other wise I don’t know
